Watchdogs

A Watchdog keeps an eye on a page for you and lets you know when something changes, so you don't have to keep checking it yourself.

Setting one up

Watchdogs are managed from Settings → Watchdogs, and can also be created directly from chat by asking Trace to track a page. Each one has:

• A URL to watch.
• A title you'll recognize it by.
• An optional CSS selector, if you only care about one part of the page rather than the whole thing.
• An expected value, for watches that should alert you when something stops matching.
• A check frequency, in hours.
• A watch type: plain text changes, or price changes specifically.

You can trigger a manual check at any time instead of waiting for the next scheduled one.
