Trending is a shared, anonymous signal across all Trace users. When you index a page, Trace fires a signal to a shared table containing only a truncated hash of the URL, the domain, the page title, and the entity names extracted from it. No user ID, no account, no raw URL, no personal data of any kind.

Where you'll see it

The Home page (your new tab) has a Trending this week section showing pages and topics many Trace users are currently saving. A page only shows up once at least two people have signaled it in the last seven days, so a single person's one-off save never surfaces.

Why it exists

It's the first feature in Trace where you benefit from what other users are reading, without any privacy trade-off: nothing you do is ever traceable back to you through this system. See Privacy & data for the full picture of what Trace does and doesn't send anywhere.
