Settings → Data is where you control what Trace imports, exports, and learns from.

Importing existing history

Trace can import your last 90 days of browsing history from Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Brave, so you're not starting from zero on day one.

Exporting your memory

Your full local index (page memory, personal facts, everything) can be exported as a single .trace file. This is separate from the automatic encrypted cloud backup that comes with the Pro plan; see Plans & billing.

Session restore

Choose whether Trace should always restore your previous session on launch, always start fresh, or ask you each time.

Interaction learning (off by default)

"Learn how you use each site" lets Trace observe how you interact with specific sites to improve suggestions there. It's off by default and opt-in.

Personalized suggestions (off by default)

"Personalized suggestions" turns on Trace's recommendation agent, which surfaces suggestions based on your browsing patterns. Also off by default.

Note:

Both interaction learning and personalized suggestions are opt-in specifically because they involve Trace acting on patterns in your behavior beyond simple indexing and search. See Privacy & data for the full picture of what's on by default versus what you have to turn on yourself.
